This module covers all the key skills for you as a team leader to move a team of canyoneers safely, from start to finish down a vertical pitch. We recommend you have good personal ‘on rope’ skills and knowledge of canyoning rigging. Or have at least taken the ‘personal movement and safety’ and ‘rigging module’ to get the most out of these instructional videos.
This module is included in the Canyoning Level 2 course.
In this descent management module you will learn the theory and techniques for managing a canyoning descent. This module covers all the required skills to effectively, safely and efficiently manage a rappel from canyoning rigging tactics and anchor management, to setting the rope length, sequencing and belaying. Learn what potential problems can occur when retrieving your rope and how to manage abrasion damage to your rope.

There is so. much. content! Its definitely the most comprehensive canyoning (or any outdoor sport for that matter) program I've seen online. It does a great job of addressing all regions - from deserts to rain forests to alpine environments - and I love that it uses universal terms rather than colloquialisms.

Probably the best virtual/non instructor lead learning out there. A variety of photos, videos and written explanations along with recap quizzes and knowledge checks along the way. If you can’t get out and practice, then just log in and learn from the arm chair. I’d recommend this for anyone looking at getting out canyoning but also anyone who ventures outside as it’s great knowledge to have. Well done V7, what a great resource!
Amazing set up. Great for all learning types, easy to start and stop and pick up where you left off with constant reminders to cement your understanding. The biggest win for me is how fun it is. I feel so much more confident for my next Canyoning trip (as very much a beginner) and excited to be able to progress in time away from the canyons. [...] I can’t recommend this highly enough!!!
